Based on the looks of it, it seems like not a lot of other people on here had this beer and based on my experience with it, it's easy to see why. No, this wasn't a drain pour but there wasn't anything about this that stood out to me as it was as typical as could be for an American IPA. If someone offered me a can of this, I'd have it but it wouldn't even be close to my first choice...
There wasn't a date on the bottom of the can as I had no idea how old this was. The pour was a murky apricot with a muted hue and a head that looked like whipped cream - but that was probably due to how old this was. Not a lot of lacing was left behind and the aroma was very subdued as well. Tropical hops and melon could be picked out as the accompanying taste was somewhat dank and piney, without being bright or appealing.
The amount of booze in this was just right as I could hardly detect it and the chalky aftertaste was enough to hide any warming that I might have been able to feel. There wasn't anything fancy about this beer and like much of what else I've reviewed from Brix City, I felt that this needed a second go-around...
