Faubourg Lager celebrates the traditions of our brewery going back to 1907. Authentically and painstakingly crafted, it’s a full-flavored and exceptionally well-balanced brew made with just barley, hops, 100% pure filtered water, and yeast. Faubourg Lager is the neighborhood beer of New Orleans, an easy-drinking lager everyone can enjoy.

The pour is straw colored with a good amount of carbonation. The taste is grains & mild hops. Cheers! B-

Poured from 12oz can into a straight sided glass. Can is dated 1/12/23 - not sure if that is canned on or best by.

Appearance: light golden hue with a touch of haze and a thin layer of white foam. Pretty enough, but more head would be nice.

Smell: rather malty with a light dose of noble hops. Not complex, but nice enough.

Taste: a little on the sweet side with a lemon character and kind of a sharp edge to the hops. Interesting, and not bad.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a decently good creaminess.

Overall: nothing super fancy but a perfectly cromulent, drinkable lager.

A respectable pilsner made with saaz and all barley. Very refreshing and drinkable. A hidden gem.

I had it on draft in NOLA, where it's made.

12 fl oz brown glass bottle:

Grassy with high minerality and a cheap malt extract taste...think homebrewers malt syrup. Crisp yet a bit thick for what is supposed to be a clean drinking lager.

I'd really only want this if I was eating eye-watering inducingly spicy Thai food or something.

D+ / NOT RECOMMENDED

Poured from a freshness dated 12 oz. can: bright, clear, deep golden hue with a foamy white head. When I purchased the six-pack, I thought the freshness date was stamped for May 2022; as it turns out, the beer was canned back in January. I'll see how well it held up.

Very lovely and spicy hop aroma. (surprising given the age)

The initial flavor is noticeable bitter that settles down with some muted hops and malt. I believe the flavor profile would be much improved when quaffed fresh. There are hints of dough, husk, and corn with a short-lived bitterness on the palate. This is a definite step above the macros.

I hope to locate a fresher example and modify my rating.
