Strange Landscape: Sauvignon Blanc is the first in a series of wine/saison hybrids from our #Blendery that seek to merge the bounty of both local and foreign terroir. Fermented on French oak for one year. Then, blended and conditioned on Sauvignon Blanc grapes for a good long time before being finished in freshly dumped Russian River Valley white wine barriques.

Copenhagen 18/4 2021. 50 cl chubby bottle - both corked and capped - from Kihoskh, Sdr. Boulevard, Kbh. V. Golden label with strange hand-like creature doing some weird dance.

Pours unclear - almost hazy - golden yellow with a small white head. Bubbly. Disappears after a minute. No lacing.

Aroma is intense with a fruity sweet odor mingling with spicy scent. Sweet pear and melon. Grapes. unripe sourish berries. Oaky. Distinct scent of vanilla.

Light carbonation. Thin, oily, almost flat texture.

Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger tart sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish and lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.

Not as wine-like as I expected and the spicy sides of the beer stick out.

Poured from a corked bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Hazed medium golden pour. Thin fizzy white head falls fast... modest ring of lacing.

S: Oak and white wine... sweet and fruity.

T.F: Strong white wine... sweet grapes, oak, and mild funk. Not much in the way of tartness.... very fruity. Pear, melon, and peach skins. Effervescent carbonation... light bodied. More oak and wine to finish.

O: A delicious white wine barrel aged Saison. Retains some sweetness but that plays well with the wine. Light and refreshing.
