Picked this up a while ago with the other beers that were released on the same weekend, finally getting around to it tonight. Had no idea that there were others like this with different hops featured but as for this brew, it was enjoyable and quite easy to quaff given how much booze was in it. No doubt that this prominently featured Mosaic without being too overtly over-the-top...
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a quietly muted amber with enough light seeping in around the edges. Plenty of head to top this off with a nice amount of lacing left on the side of my pint glass, although a good amount was near the top. Plenty of melon, piss (there, I said it), stone fruit, and vegetal notes in the muted nose as the latter really came through in the taste. Celery, cabbage, and the like emerged as this warmed up as the dankness took hold. The stone fruit sweetness that was faint in the beginning stayed throughout my session but wasn't strong enough to overtake everything else that was going on, as a dark fruit slickness held throughout, making this just a bit more palatable...
Plenty of booze here although this never felt or tasted terribly strong. The blueberry that took hold as this warmed up was what made it work for me as the sweetness and slickness took the harsh edges off. Not a bad beer but this was quite dank and murky in more than one way. Dated 8/11 with "CHAMPAGNE OF IPAS" written below it, this was not like Miller High Life nor champagne, as well. This featured the hop well but given the lack of discernible malt, could have been a bit more well-rounded. Worth a go once just for the sensory experience...

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a slightly hazy rusted orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This is a dirty, pissy, and sweet Mosaic bomb. There's candied blueberry punch, with orange juice, and pine.
I don't really like Mosaic much, so maybe I'm not the best judge here. It's definitely a good expression of the hop, as there's blueberry punch, and mandarin orange, almost with a taste like the fruity juice at the bottom of a fruit cup. There's a smooth grassy bitterness that definitely helps the balance. There's no malt character at all.
This is light bodied, crisp and clean- with absolutely no sign of the ABV at all, which is quite impressive.
I can appreciate that this is a well made DIPA, despite my usual distaste for Mosaic hops.

A: Poured from the Crowler into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is slightly hazy golden with a 1-finger white head that settles pretty quickly. Decent legs of lace.
S: Good nose that showcases the Mosaic hop varietal - loads of tropical fruit, with pineapple predominant, but also a touch of grapefruit and even apricot - over a solid sweet malt bill.
T: Soft stone fruit up front (apricot, ripe peaches), then tropical fruity hops - pineapple juice and a hint of mango. Finishes with a slight bitterness that calls to mind lemons, but overall this one leans toward the sweeter side of things - both with the DIPA malt foundation and the tropical fruity hops.
M: Light in carbonation, this one is modestly slick in feel. Call it medium in heft.
O: Good. Not earth-shattering, but quite good.

another courtesy of captain sirsteve...thanks buddy!!!
what a stunner! I am a massive fan of mosaic (who isnt) and this is a spectacular double showcasing the wonderful hop. not juicy in the looks but the taste is supreme juice. body is a touch thin but drinks lighter than an 8.5. very good brew. not my favorite mosaic brew but certainly up there.
