Picked this up a while ago, finally getting around to it tonight. Love the name as Manhattanhenge is something unique to this area that only New Yorkers really understand and that was a bit of the case with this beer as well, as it wasn't quite like anything that I previously had from LIC. More dank in appearance than in taste, there was a massive tropical fruit and chalky presence to this that made it easy to quaff and straightforward from the get-go.
Of course, the pour to this was a muted straw with plenty of head to top it off and a bit of sediment at the bottom of the liquid in my pint glass. Lots of melon, cantaloupe, peach, and ripeness in the nose as all of those were in the taste as well. Dry, chalky, and light on carbonation, some mild dank pineapple, zesty citrus, and tangerine juice came through in the taste once this warmed up. Some chalky lime emerged near the end as this had a fairly bright and crisp finish that complemented the hop profile quite nicely...
This felt stronger than it was in actuality as the amount of alcohol was quite light for what I could feel on my palate. The rarity of a beer that had a European touch of grass to it was a change from what I was used to here and like Manhattanhenge itself, was a welcome change from the more mundane that I've become accustomed to. Though there was nothing printed on the bottom of the can, a hint of orange cream sweetness at the end tied this off nicely. Like it's namesake, that had me looking forward to the it's next iteration as I didn't want this to end!

A: Poured from the half-growler into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is hazy straw yellow with no real head, just a wisp of white film on top.
S: Very nice nose of tropical fruit and melon.
T: Follows the nose, with tropical fruit (pineapple) and ripe melon, along with modest stone fruit (think apricot, underripe plums) and a healthy dose of lemony, drying bitterness at the finish.
M: Feels relatively light in heft; call it lighter-than-medium in bodyweight. Carbonation is lacking, though to be fair, it's been in the growler for 5 or 6 days now, perhaps it got a little flat.
O: Good stuff. Not blow-you-away amazing, but quite solid.

-hazy bright yellow tap pour with a fluffy cap. Sticky lacing marks each draught. The aroma is minimal. The flavor is strong with citrus fruit and some melon. The hop bitterness is moderate. The finish is crisp, a very pleasant brew.
