LIC Beer Project "Sour Hour"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a Berliner style weiss at 7% ABV with guava and passionfruit. It's a hazy golden amber in color beneath a short head of white that fades rather quickly, but of course that's common with sour beers. In the nose it appears to be sour, and there's a pleasant fruitiness to it and some malt character. It's not mineralish like so many sour beers. On to the taste... it's tart but really not that sour. Both the passionfruit and guava come through although I'm getting more passionfruit. That's OK, I thought I got more guava in the aroma so they're even. I'm not finding any bitterness although none is needed as the acidity more than dries it in the finish. The body is light and with the acidity it's got a light bite despite only having a moderate carbonation level. That's great though because carbon dioxide adds some acidity and it's got a very nice balance as it is. It's 90˚F in the shade right now so I'm loving it but you could drink this pretty muc year 'round.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
