thanks to my homie for bringing some of these back from his travels out west, this is a tasty and clean, slightly sweet and not very bitter at all west coast ipa, presumably featuring the new pink boots hop blend for this year. its a highly refined, easy drinking beer that almost hits like a pale ale, golden and without a ton of malt character, frothy headed and very active, light bodied but without missing anything to me in terms of texture or balance. the nose and taste on this are identical, fruity kids cereal character to the hop profile, kiwi fruit, green grape, ripe melon, pineapple candy, a nice mix of hops here and robust up front, they come on early which is cool, and the freshness is still on point. there is a confectioners sugar sweetness that really comes strong at the end and holds this to my teeth and tongue so its with me awhile, it doesnt make the beer heavy, but it slows it down just a bit. i do think it flatters the hops though and accentuates the fruit flavors. some sweet orange, floral white wine, and pink starburst at the end of this. lightly botanical too though and grounded well by what the grain brings, the ferment is clean as a whistle, and the high carbonation feels just right for this. easy and summery and appealing, thankful to have gotten into it, i think these guys are making some pretty killer hoppy stuff in my way too limited experience, wish i had more access! this is as good a pink boots beer as i have had all season...
