Refreshingly crisp and malt-forward, our traditional German-Style Helles Lager is light and bright. This lager balances delicate grain flavors and a hint of bread crust with traditional noble hops for a pleasant, soft bitterness.

Crystal clear golden brew with ample foam in the Stella Artois goblet. Pleasant aroma of cornbread and malt. Slightly sweet with a tangy finish. Light and spritzy on the tongue. The flavor is plain shredded wheat cereal. Hops are inconspicuous, showing just a little green note. Less sweet than a lot of this style, Lucky Envelope's is crisp and highly drinkable. From the 16 oz can purchased at Town & Country Market in Shoreline.

(4 oz taster pour at the brewery 3 Jul 2024... reviewed from recollections)
first of the tasters I'd tried that day... beautifully brilliant gold color, polished clarity... a bit too clean for a Helles, lacking some of the rounder, yeastier subtlties of German imports, which resulted in rather well-honed malt flavors, giving expressive shape and definition... overall, fairly malty and, therefore, seemingly heftier than other examples of the style.. I did enjoy it, and considered getting a full pour (2338)

Had on tap. Clear golden body with a thin white cap. Smell is led by the lager malt with honey. Taste is much the same but has more yeast character to compliment the malt. Feel is very crisp, decently clean, malty, and bright. A solid helles lager for anytime of year

Moderate amount of slightly creamy white head. Really pale straw color. Slightly sweet, lightly toasted barley malt aroma, with some mixed spice and floral notes. Bright notes to a slightly sweet, caramelized malt flavor, with a mineral like finish.

It might seem tame and unadventurous at first, but after a few sips you'll be hoping for a beer-filled inflatable (and infallible) I-Ching innertube with which to coast down the Highway to Helles with this delicious golden Surety!

On tap at the brewery, Seattle.
Chill haze gold; flint and flowers; Wonder bread, slight tartness, touch of granola, bubblegum hints, and mild grass end.

All there. Not as clean or defined as Jack’s Abby, though maybe better for it. Only knock on it is the body: verging on watery.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a mug at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a nearly-clear body, a good effervescence and a thin finger of white foam. A good look for the style.
Smell: lightly malty with a bit of classic sweetness. Uncomplicated, but nice.
Taste: sweetish malt with a bit of graininess and just a hint of corn; quite appropriate for the style. Hops are noble in character and plenty forward; this is a very tasty helles lager.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a moderate carbonation and OK creaminess.
Overall: not a perfect beer; it's a little on the sweet side, but I'm liking that. Very drinkable.
