Excellent mexican style lager! Best brewed in my opinion. All other breweries need to take note on this one! Full of flavor like no other. I like this beer alot. If you have a chance to try it don't miss out.

Bottle I brought to share at Retsinis' tasting.
2015 vintage.
Pours a clear orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, coffee bean, burnt brewed coffee, vanilla, and spice aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, earth, char, spice, and slight coffee flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of toast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that sounds good on paper, but the finished product doesn't work all that well in my opinion.

Poured into the growler at the taproom this morning. Drinking 12 hours later in Southen CA
Nose: fresh coffee, cinnamon, spice, cocoa, fresh bread
Taste: starts with some caramel malt, cinnamon spice cake, cocoa, milk chocolate, and fresh, slight fruity hop bite, and a slight lingering chile pepper spice underneath the whole palate
Feel: light-medium bodied, like a dark Mexican lager with some attitude. Fragrant, lively, bitey. Light bodied yet rich in profile
Really like this beer, one the most unique and tasty beers MBC brews. I love how it has the characteristics of a big spiced stout but with a completely different base body.

Pours a dark red brown with a very thin foam. It doesn't look like much carbonation, though there seems to be enough spritz on the tongue. Interesting woody aroma with the spicy nose that finally turns out to be cinnamon.
A very light malty body, though the flavor is rather sweet to start out. It seems to be more sharp and less sugary as the spices take over. This stuff is pretty scratchy in the throat. Some hoppy bitterness for the finish. Mellow and tangy, very light mouthfeel, and plenty spicy. The individual added flavors are not too distinguishable except for the cinnamon, and even that is no offensive.
From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bine & Vine in San Diego for $7.49.
