Here's a Hazy Double iPA, packed with Citra, Mosaic and Azacca. Brewed just for the holidays, this big, hazy, hoppy pint of holiday goodness will greet you with notes of grapefruit, lime, mango and pine, but just like frost in SoCal, it won't hang around long. Picked this up with five others at Windmill Farms. Not the biggest fan of Duck Foot from what I’d had so far, giving Secret Spot a 3.81 and Goofy Regular a 3.78 two days prior, and only kind of enjoying a previous flight within the first few months they opened. Can description read, “Here's a Hazy Double IPA, packed with Citra, Mosaic and Azacca. Brewed just for the holidays, this big, hazy, hoppy pint of holiday goodness will greet you with notes of grapefruit, lime, mango and pine, but just like frost in SoCal, it won't hang around long. Unwrap this one first for maximum dankness.” Citra and Mosaic are two of my favorite hops. I always forget how Azacca tastes until I taste it, then it all comes back. Hoping for a better rating than a 3.82.
Like Goofy Regular, this one did not look like a hazy IPA, but more like a West Coast IPA. NOTE: It is a West Coast IPA. Poured a light amber semi-hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at slow speeds. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled Mosaic, rose blossom, mango, berry, red grapefruit, pine, lime and citrus zest. From the can got the Citra, Mosaic and lime zest. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted about as good as the nose. Got rose blossom, Mosaic, bitter red grapefruit rind, red berry, pine, lime, citrus zest, pineapple and coconut. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This was better than Goofy Regular. Very good overall and I’d have it again. (Overall - 3.75)
