Huge chocolate and dark fruit flavors from the base beer meld sublimely with toffee and caramel malt notes and the addition of toasted shredded coconut. Spicy but smooth alcohol notes bring it all together with a pleasant off-dry finish.

Was kind of looking forward to this one. Not the biggest fan of what I’d had from Duck Foot, going 3.82, 3.81 and 3.78 for my three review before and only thinking a flight once was just OK. I’m a sucker for coconut in stouts, but damn, it sounded good. Online description was, “Huge chocolate and dark fruit flavors from the base beer meld sublimely with toffee and caramel malt notes and the addition of toasted shredded coconut. Spicy but smooth alcohol notes bring it all together with a pleasant off-dry finish.”
Poured a pitch black color with two fingers of khaki tan frothy head. Could see some slow moving bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Average watery lacing. Bad retention. (Sight - 3.25)
Smelled toasted coconut, milk chocolate, toffee, caramel, chocolate syrup, vanilla and cinnamon/wintry spice. Damn good, but not as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.50)
Tasted almost as good as the nose, but not quite. Got toasted coconut flakes, milk chocolate, toffee, caramel, vanilla, chocolate syrup, cinnamon/wintry spice and Mounds candy. (Taste - 4.25)
Full body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Long, smooth, warming finish. Really good mouthfeel. (Feel - 4.50)
Just an excellent beer. First time (out of 12 now) that a Duck Foot beer for me has been better than a 3.75. Could drink this all day. (Overall - 4.25)
