32oz crowler served in a personalized Maßkrug. Beer has a great appearance, golden and amber, mostly clear, and forms a sturdy white head. Really fresh aroma with coppery Munich malt balanced with citrusy hops. Flavor is well balanced and citrus forward, complimented with toasty and biscuity barley flavors. The brewer claims all Cascade hops, but the depth of flavor in the bitterness here is fantastic, no doubt due to the subtle use of specialty grains. By today's PNW IPA standards this level of malt character would be considered a defect, but it's delicious here and not to be missed.
This is a flavorful, excellent, and highly drinkable APA that reminds us why we should still drink the style. A great way to start my 5th decade on this planet.
