We first brewed Headaches during our first expansion for all those headaches that come with the territory. Now that we are announcing our second brewery and preparing for even more headaches, we figured there is no better time to bring back this Imperial IPA. Headaches is double dry hopped with Hallertau Blanc and Simcoe hops.

6/29/2023 - It doesn't say hazy on the label but it's about as hazy as you can get. A light gold orange color. The head is nice and foamy, lacy; Flavorful, slightly unusual taste; The mouthfeel is nice, sparkly. Apparently this beer has been retired. I see the previous rating was nearly five years ago. I guess I won't be having more. Too bad.

The beer is 45 degrees and served in tulip glass. The beer has a one finger frothy and creamy head that dissipated quickly. The only existence of the head is a ring around the glass and a touch of lace. The color of the beer is SRM 4 a pale gold with a straw hue. The clarity of the beer is slightly hazy with effervescences. The overall appearance of the beer is good.

The initial aromas in the beer are juicy oranges and grass. Additionally, the aromas I get grapefruit, resin, toasted malt, biscuits, pine, and yeast.

The initial flavors in the beer are grapefruit and herbal. Additionally, I get pine, resin, toasted malt, biscuits, pine, yeast, oranges, and lemons.

The mouthfeel of the beer is astringent and crisp.

The body of the beer is medium, medium-high carbonation, and a full finish.

The beer is solid IPA. I just found out it is a DIPA, for me it not as strong. The beer is good but I wanted more from this beer.

Hazy orange color propping up a voluminous tan head. The obligatory juicy hop aromas lead to a flavor profile that features the juicy oranges you expect, but also includes berry notes that elevate this a notch or seven.

If this beer was available to me, it would always be in my beer fridge. Outstanding, IMHO.

Canned 3 days ago.

Pours dark, murky orange with 2+ fingers of white head.

The nose is kiwi, strawberry, raspberry, and fresh cut grass. Some spicy, peppery hop notes.

The taste opens with a pop of tropical Simcoe. The finish dries out a bit too much.

The mouthfeel opens soft and medium, giving way to minor booze on the backend.

Overall, pretty good. Nice berry notes.

Don't know where the name "Headaches" came from, but it could be a reference to the huge head that accompanied my pour of this pretty beer into a regular IPA glass. The head--not the taste-- reminded me of Duvel, though it didn't last as long. Nice beer, tasty and refreshing. The 8.2% ABV is masked by the hop flavors, which in this case are pine and citrus, though neither dominates. An apparent hybrid between the East and West coast styles, it's not as chewy as many others, including its own Contractual Obligation, which means its mouthfeel is somewhat thinner. Not a bad thing, especially if you've just finished some yard work and want a solid refresher. The PubScout enjoyed it, but Contractual Obligation would be my preference.

This was another beer that I traded for from Magnify recently but took a while to get around to. All of these have had a nice can design but haven't quite broken through to the next level that I've been waiting for from these guys. This was a very easygoing beer that hid the alcohol well but just needed a bit more flavor to it!

No doubt that the pour was the best aspect of this beer as this had a hazy and dank straw hue to it with a soft glow around the edges where the light seeped through. The aroma wasn't strong but there was some lemon and tropical pith to be found there. Both of these were in the mouthfeel as well with more pronounced tropical fruits, candied sugar, and a really dry mouthfeel. Lots of soapy lacing was left along the back of my pint glass as there was a faint citrus juice consistency to this that kept this from needing a chaser of water afterwards.

There was enough alcohol here and a bit of an odd burn in the aftertaste but overall, this went down nicely for a beer of this potency. While not their best offering, this was good enough to satisfy hopheads looking for a quasi-juice bomb that still delivered the goods. Just a bit more tang and pine would be all that I'd ask from this!

Appearance: a cloudy dark orange color with a 1/2" head that slowly falls.

Smell: pine, earth, and some tropical fruits.

Taste: pineapple, orange, lemon zest, and some mango with pine, and an earthy bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium in body. Lightly crisp throughout with a bit of a dry finish.

Overall: a very tasty DIPA that is easy drinking too.
