Collaboration with Finback.
This Imperial IPA was brewed with honey on the hot side for more earthiness and complexity. It was double dry hopped with Eureka!, Idaho 7, Citra and an experimental hop, Experimental 1320.

16oz can from share. Golden body, small white head. Funky, hoppy aroma, some tropical notes. Taste brings some sweetness, and allows the hops to come out even more. Leaning towards the NE style.

I was not a huge fan of original Smell Ya Later - was solid but nothing special. This version is a different animal. So tasty, big juice hit up front and loads of flavor. Excellent beer

Another very enjoyable one from Magnify :) Clearly a very forward tropical fruit presence - mango, citrus, etc. - but the one factor I don't see noted is the honey. The honey undertones are right beneath the surface. Very nicely done! Getting no burn, although I am drinking the July 15th batch on August 26th so it may have faded by now.

Thanks goes out to DEdesings57 for this brew.
16 oz. Can
Canned On: 7/15/17
My first from this brewery.
Poured into a Squatters true pint glass a very nice cloudy yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy two-finger plus white head, which also leaves some really nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple), pretty nice diesel like. The taste is really nice, hoppy, malty, with a really nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple), really nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very well with this one, with a really nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty brew. Surprised Me! Addictive! Orange Julius! Glad to have gotten a chance to try it. Thanks Dave!

Traded for this a while ago and finally got around to this tonight as I've been on a big Magnify kick lately. This was easily one of their better beers and about as incredibly smooth as anything that I've ever had from them. It's rare to find an American Double/Imperial IPA that has an alcoholic presence that's this hidden but this did the trick and it was hard to keep it in my pint glass long enough to review this!
Nice pour to this as the beer had a pretty dank, melon hue with a full but moderate head. A fair amount of soapy lacing remained as I worked my way through this. A nice amount of melon, citrus, and melon were in the nose with plenty of dankness from the former in the taste. Combine that in the taste with citrus juice, sweet nectar, and resin in the mouthfeel and the result was a tasty and addicting flavor profile that rivaled any of the best beers that either Magnify or Finback has ever released. A light amount of carbonation and white cheese-like dryness to the mouthfeel kept this from feeling heavy as the melon and stone fruit lingered long after the last drop went down.
I can't say that I've had a beer recently that felt so much lighter than it was in actuality. The alcohol was on my breath when I finished this but had I had another can here, I would have polished it off once this was done. Really lovely stuff that never felt too dank, unfiltered, or heavy - this is why I drink the insane amount of collabs that I do. No burn here - just pure dank hops, fruit, and slickness. What's not to love?

Very beautiful rich straw color, hazy with a small but persistent head. Smell is absolute tits! Honey sweet with a citrus peel tang. Pineapple and pine forest air make an appearance as well. Reminds me fondly of my dearly beloved Hopslam. Taste does not disappoint either, orange blossom honey backbone there is a nice dry grapefruit on the back end as well as a hint-o-mint and caramelly notes throughout. Very nicely balanced DIPA. The mouthfeel is maybe the best I've had from a DIPA, robust and pillowy, it goes down easy and does not leave anything but good memories on the tongue. A great DIPA for the heat of summer. Overall a great beer, one of the better DIPAs I've ever tried. Reminiscent of Hopslam (my personal favorite in the category) in all the best ways but with it's own citrusy character. Lots to be loved in this can.

L-Poured a hazy orange / yellow with a one finger head that settles to a white cap.......lacing is thick and slowly slides down the side of glass
S-Lives up to its title.........bursting with hop aroma..........Citrus, orange, lemon, grapefruit......some dankness....hard candy....
T-Similar to the nose......citrus, orange, lemons and grapefruit.......slight bitterness in the finish with notes of resinous pine......mild throat burn with some lingering hop matter
F-less than medium........low to moderate carbonation.......smooth, creamy
O-Very Drinkable given the ABV as it is well hidden........drinks closer to 7.5% than 9.5%.....may be better a week from now as this was just released 2 days ago......maybe with some time the slight burn will fade earning this brew a higher score.......having said that the burn isn't so bad that I can't enjoy the beer only that it is present and detracts from the taste and feel
