Triple Dry-Hopped Vine Shine is our flagship IPA on steroids. Remaining at 6.5%, this version is dry hopped with a variety of American hops, predominantly Simcoe, and hopped at 3 times the normal rate.

I have been sitting on this can for a while

L-Pours a clear straw yellow with big three fingered head that leaves a thick lacing as it subsides

S-lots of tropical hops with overripe fruit.......passion fruit, papaya, ripe honeydew.........some dankness in the background but the ripe fruit is prominent

T-similar to the nose.......lots of passion fruit.......with some citrus rind.......slight pine in the back end

F-less than medium, a bit crisp with some bubbly carbonation...........slight bitter finish

O-enjoyable brew

Pours very hazy yellow gold color which resembles pineapple juice with a 1-2 finger white foamy head that faded very slowly and left excellent foamy spider web lacing coating the sides, and then rings as of foam it went down. Textbook NE style IPA looks that had a foamy layer on top after the head dissipated.

Smells of grapefruit, passionfruit, pineapple, orange peel, dry floral hops, flowers, coriander, tea leaf, light peppery spices, piney notes, grains and earthy notes like dry leaves. The dry hopping steals the show and allows the more earthy, floral hops and elements to overtake the citrus aroma. Not as fruit as I wanted, but expected for a triple hopped IPA.

Taste is the reverse of the nose; the dry floral hops come out first with flowers, tea leaf, light peppery spices, coriander, piney notes, roasted grains, pizza crust, earthy notes like dry leaves and weed stems. The next wave is orange peel, red grapefruit, lemon zest, blood orange and sharp bitter citrus fruit like yuzu. It ends with biscuit, ashy cardboard and dry leafy hops that are similar to stale weed in the texture I feel in the brew. That may not seem like a great description, but the flavor is very good as all these hops work well together with a mild level of bitterness. Not a session beer, but tasty.

Appearance: Arrives cloudy and amber colored with a modest cap; strands of lacing

Smell: Mango, pineapple and ruby red grapefruit; bright and floral

Taste: Very juicy, with the mango and pineapple flavors pronounced; the grapefruit builds through the middle but the bitterness is piney, but restrained; lingering bitterness in the aftertaste, however

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: The triple dry hop treatment really works some magic here
