Double Dry Hopped Mouthfeelings is a 6.4% IPA. We took last year's recipe reimagined what this beer can be. We brewed it with 50% malted oats and lactose for a pillowy, silky and extra soft mouthfeel. We added Belma, Topaz and Motueka to the whirlpool and double dry hopped it with a ton of Motueka, Belma, a touch of Amarillo and Centennial.

Traded for this a while ago as it was in the back of my stash and passed over when I thought I had cleaned all of my Magnify's out of it. Though I'm not familiar with some of the hops that were used in this, this was indeed a pillowy and silky beer that easily went down and quickly won me over in the mouthfeel department. The taste wasn't complex or heavy but was easily enjoyable and fresh, given how long I held onto this for!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was hazy, muted, and a dark apricot in hue. Lots of head topped this off but the large bubbles quickly settled as very little lacing was left behind. Lots of lactose, lime pith, oats, tropical fruit rind, and dank melon in the muted nose as they all came through a bit more in the taste. Somehow, the sweetness, hops, and oats all worked together here with the softness tying everything in together. Hardly any carbonation to this and there was a bit of find sediment at the bottom of the liquid but somehow, this felt like a full meal between the body, heft, and milkiness that allowed the harsher edges to be toned down a bit in the end.
Not a lot of alcohol here, even though it felt stronger than it was in actuality. The DDH aspect allowed for this to come across as something old and familiar even though I can't ever recall having a beer with both Belma and Topaz in it. Solid stuff that went down easily with just a bit of dank, earthy funkiness lingering in the end, leaving me wanting for another can of this!
