One-Two Punch is an 8.5% DDH Imperial IPA based off our Punch IPA. It is hopped with Michigan Copper hops for aromas of Hawaiian Punch. We hit this beer with Michigan Copper in the kettle and first dry hop, and dry hopped it a second time with a heavy dose of Mosaic.

Picked this up a while back and finally got around to it this week, along with all of the other Magnify beers that I'm starting to work my way through. This was a vast improvement over the Punch as it was much smoother, tastier, and more pleasant for the senses. It hid the alcohol well and feature the Michigan Copper hop nicely, which has me wondering why more beers don't feature it!

This had a decent pour to it as the liquid was a muddled apricot with plenty of haze to it and a bit of sediment, but not much given how long I had this sitting for. Lots of Michigan Copper hops, dank tropical fruit, starfruit, and Hawaiian Punch in the nose with much of the dank aspects of that coming through in the taste. Quite sticky, this was not a typical IPA from this neck of the woods as it had more of a moutfeel from something out of the left coast. The fruit sweetness really emerged as this warmed up and some of the booze came through in the aftertaste, once this fully went down.

While not terribly strong, I could feel a nice warming sensation take hold as I finished this off. The sweetness really drew me in along with pleasing-but-exotic taste that wasn't like many other beers that I've had. This was one of Magnify's better offerings and something that I'd reach for again from them, which isn't often the case...

Poured a golden orange body with minimal head and lace that sticks around. The aroma has a spicy citric crispness and some tropical fruit notes. Not overly sweet yet a thicker, heavier IPA with some tropical and grapefruit sweetness that balances a slightly spicy, dry citric bite and it has a clean finish.

I reviewed this the day after its release so it's very fresh. Poured into Magnify tulip glass. It pours a hazy, almost opaque, golden-orange color with a bright head that disappeared quickly. The nose features sweet tropical fruit; the analogy to Hawaiian Punch is a good one. There is also a subtle smell of floral hops. This certainly is a sweet DIPA. It has a noticeable taste of tropical fruit and bubblegum but it's difficult to identify the individual flavors. Again, the analogy to Hawaiian Punch is apt. I'm no expert on Michigan Copper hops, but I am familiar with Mosaic and they are subtle and don't overwhelm the sweetness of the tropical fruit. This ale is medium-bodied and almost creamy, with average carbonation, and it drinks below its 8.5% ABV. Overall, this is an interesting DIPA: it's as sweet as you'll find. I'm surprised it wasn't released during the summer months. If you like fruity IPA's and aren't a hop head, then you should like this Magnify offering.
