Double Dry Hopped Imperial Vine Shine is an 8.3% Imperial version of our flagship, Vine Shine. We originally brewed this base beer for our first anniversary, over a year and a half ago, and decided to double dry hop it this time around.

Pours very hazy yellow gold color with a 2 finger thick foamy white head that was full of bubbles of all sizes, fading very, very slowly and leaving excellent foamy lacing coating the sides along with foamy rings as it went down.
Smells of grapefruit, toasted grains, lemon zest, orange peel, vegetable husk, tangerine, onion, caramel and floral hops. The nose is just as malty as it is hoppy, but really nice balance but it's a little weak on the hop aspect for a DIPA.
Tastes of sweet malt, toasted grains, orange peel, lemon zest, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, crackers, light peppery spices and or coriander, herbs, fresh cut flowers and lots of floral notes. The double dry hopping really is the star of the show and brings out a lot of nice hoppy complexities.
Mouthfeel is smooth and on the thin side with very mild carbonation, a mild bitterness, an average body and a malty sweet finish that trails off with citrus notes.

I had this on draught at the brewery. It pours a hazy, golden-honey color with a foamy, bright white head and lacing that lasted through the pour. The nose isn't bold but features a pleasant blend of lemon, tangerine, onion, and floral hops. The taste is terrific! I don't know what malt is used but it provides a caramel flavor in the background. In addition, there is lemon peel, tangerine, and flavorful hops that provide bitterness but don't bite. The flavors are distinguishable but delicate and blend really well. This ale is crisp with lively carbonation, and its 8.3% ABV is barely noticeable. Overall, the Double Dry Hopped, Imperial version is a great variation on the base Vine Shine. I know that Magnify likes to tinker with its recipes but I hope they brew and can this variant again.
