Double Dry Hopped with Cascade.
Cascade was the original American hop variety and we wanted to brew a beer to showcase the nuances of it. To do this, we sourced cascade from three different growing regions: Yakima Valley, New York State, and the Midwest. Although all these hops are Cascade, each region’s crop brought out different characteristics of the hop. We double dry hopped this beer with a blend of each region’s hops and lupulin powder for a dynamic Cascade experience.

This was yet another beer from Magnify that I bought there and took a while to get to, as I've been on a kick to whittle down my stash as of late. Wasn't crazy about the name of this brew but the story behind it is interesting, as it reminded me of the Latitude 48 from Boston Brewing. I tend to associate Cascade hops with beers from the left coast but in this instance, this was certainly a brew from this neck of the woods. The burn and metallic citrus twinge were hard to find here although this did have a hop presence to it that was more along the likes of Galaxy or Motueka...
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was quite hazy, with a golden look to it that was topped off with plenty of head. Nearly all of the lacing was around the collar with just a few spotty sections on the remainder of my pint glass as I worked my way through this. Lots of melon, mango, celery, vegetables, and urine in the subtle nose as they call melded together in the taste. Wish there were more earthy, citrus, and metallic notes here to give this bitterness and depth but I just couldn't find them throughout my session. A moderately juicy mouthfeel left hints of pineapple rind behind as the malt and carbonation were nearly non-factors with this beer.
This felt stronger than it was as the amount of booze was hardly discernible and didn't detract from the taste at all. I would love to have a beer with each of the Cascade hops that were utilized in this brew, just to see how they differ. The end result of this was something that I could enjoy but not particularly espouse, as I feel that this wasn't necessarily better than the sum of it's parts. Wort a go once for fans of Magnify but not one of their better beers, when all was said and done.
