I finished up my ~ weekly quarantine re-up yesterday with a visit to Rieker Bottle Works. My big 3 are Beer & Beverage Shoppe (B&BS) on Thursday; Friendly Greek Bottle Shop (FGBS) on Friday & Riker Bottle Works yesterday. I do not drive & so everything is a planned event on foot patrol/shoe leather express & public trans along with the ocCANsional ride.

I will be looking for a Bottled version, but in the meantime, I was NOT going to pass up something involving my favorite fruit! I have mentioned earlier, but I CANnot remember where, that my fave fruits are 1. strawberry, 2. blueberry & 3. peaches. I make a wicked 4th of July Sheet cake to resemble the U.S. flag every year using all three fruits. It is a big hit, inspired by one made in my youth for an annual party, but especially big in 1976. More nostalgia.
I beCAN by moving my base of hoperations over to the sink area. I CANnot seem to get the hang of the initial Glug following the Crack!ing open of the vent without some dribble. 8=( It is simply that the vent is set a little further back than on a 12- or 16-fl. oz. lid & there is some secret to it that I have not tumbled to as yet.
I may have hit upon the solution through trial & error. By holding the CAN/Crowler way above the glass, the dribble was eliminated! Of course, given that elevation, I was faced with a LOT of foaming action, even with a slow, gentle Glug. Two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny/light-tan head later & I was ready to move my base of operations back to the CANtertop keyboard. Color was a murky, turbid Brown to Dark Brown (SRM = > 22, < 27), like CANestoga River water following a heavy storm! 8=O Nose was redolent with strawberry & maple syrup! 8=O Hey, if they want to call it a ADIPA/AIIPA, so be it, but they are going to get dunned acCANdingly. Mouthfeel was medium, rather thin for their chosen style. The taste was kind of jangly as the sight tartness of the strawberries was not meshing perfectly with the maple syrup.
I love strawberry pancakes, but I would NEVER put maple syrup on them! Butter? Yes, please. Strawberry syrup? Sure, if available. Coffee? Leave the pot! There was a coffee shop at the corner of Pleasant Valley Road & S Saviers Road in Oxnard, CA that I used to frequent, being only a few blocks from my apartment building, that made the best strawberry pancakes! Once a season, when it was my turn to host the Black & Gold Brigade at Sam's Saloon for a Stillers game, it was our pre-game stop to load up on fuel for the day. Mmm.
Back to the beer. It was too sweet for the style. Warming, the syrup beCAN to overtake the strawberry, which was unfortunate since that was the saving grace in it. 8=( Finish remained sweet & I felt like I needed either coffee or water to wash it down. I don't regret my purchase, but I could have used less of it. YMMV.

Bright hazy golden pour with a nice head on top. Smells sweet and tropical, fruity, fresh. Juicy hops, tropical, light citrus. Nicely carbonated with an easy feel.

Really dig this. The strawberry and maple are both apparent but the flavors aren't over the top.

On draught at the brewery two weeks after release. It pours a nearly opaque, light golden-honey color with a creamy, milk-white head and soapy lacing with excellent retention. It's a sharp looking pour. Unfortunately, it goes down hill from there. The most noticeable smell is lactose. I didn't smell much strawberry or hops. The taste features a strong dose of lactose up front with a hint of strawberry. Only as the glass warmed did I detect the advertised maple syrup. The Mosaic and Citra hops were very subdued. This ale is creamy and super easy to drink in spite of its 8% ABV. Overall, I'm not a big fan of beers that seek to emulate food. This offering's a little gimmicky for me. I'll take Contractual Obligation or Maine Event (among many others) any day.

L-Cloudy orange juice with a slight red hue........1/4 head that quickly slips into a slight white cap......moderate lacing without much retention
S-Smells like strawberry pancakes covered in strawberry syrup with some sight fruity, citrus hops in the background....can smell just a touch of the maple syrup....strawberry aroma is not overly sweet but certainly a presence......never thought I get to the point where I would drink a beer that smells like this, but it does remind me of breakfast
T-Some strawberry, some marshmallow, some citrus hops...flavors are a bit all over the place.....some bitter lemon in the finish
F-less than medium, crisp tingly carbonation, somewhat tart
O-improves as it warms, a bit sweet for my tastes but interesting to try........don't think I would buy it again
