Traded for this a while ago, getting around to it during the big game as I have the house to myself. Although I enjoyed the other iterations of this, this version was just a bit too odd for me to fully warm up to; even after it fully warmed up...

As was the case with the others, the pour was the best attribute of this beer as it was dark, topped off with plenty of offsetting head, and left behind just enough lacing to complement the liquid. Not a strong aroma to this as it felt more like a seasonal beer with all the cinnamon that was present. Bourbon stickiness, brown sugar, burnt sugar, and booze rounded out the heavy-handed and subtle smell that gave a hint of what was to come. Tons of bourbon stickiness, cinnamon spice, barrel-aged wood, and dark sugar in the taste but somehow, this didn't quite work with me. It melded well but the taste was never appealing and this was a bit too thin for me to proverbially and literally chew on, down to the last sip.

At 15.00% ABV, I gave this plenty of time to warm up as it was not even close to being a fast sipper. Hints of caramel malt and oak stickiness could be detected between sips but even with that, this needed a bit more chocolate and bourbon to stand above the others. While not a bad beer, I'd rather have an actual bourbon than one of these. Less cinnamon would have made it more appropriate for a season outside of fall and some cocoa powder could have gave it body and flavor that it was lacking. Worth a go once just have another Yeah You Know Me variation...

Poured from 16 oz. can into Magnify tulip glass. It pours an oily black with almost two fingers of foamy, mocha colored head and lacing with excellent retention. Considering the bourbon barrel aging, the smell is surprisingly subdued with roasted malt, dark chocolate, and freshly brewed coffee. The taste opens with burnt coffee, rich, dark chocolate, and nuts. When first poured the bourbon taste was strong but it mellowed as the glass warmed. Still, it finishes with a fairly bitter bourbon flavor. The feel is really viscous, rich, and chewy, with low carbonation, and the 15% ABV is unmistakable. Overall, it's very good but I think I prefer the original and Mexican variants.
