16 oz can, 08/07/18.

Deep lovely cloudy-honey pour with a creamy head of 1 finger, lace just skirting the glass.

Aromas are faint, but feature orange peel, lemon peel, grassy hop pellet, grapefruit, and slight melon.

Flavor has a very dirty earthy undercurrent, and on top lies grapefruit, orange peel, caramel malt, and...hop spoilage? Already? Yes, it's true, fading faster than a damn Jai Alai, I can already detect hop spoilage and fading exactly 30 days from canning. What a farce.

Feel brings a nice layer of acidity meeting slight creaminess, with a popping carbonation. Definitely not soft though.

Overall, a lame NE IPA that doesn't really offer anything but a big fat FOMO if you're not drinking it quick.

Hazy orange, a sizable head that faded slowly leaving nice rings of lacing and patchy suds on the surface. The nose is a little muted but there is some sweet citrus, bread, and candy aromas that are pretty nice. A definite grass and floral flavor upfront with accents of orange and a lingering aftertaste that is almost leathery. Good carbonation and relatively smooth finish for an imperial at 8.5%, booze is well-hidden.

I had this on draught at the brewery on its release day. It pours a murky, turbid brownish gold color with a half finger of fluffy, ecru-colored head and soapy lacing of like color. The aromatic smell includes lemon, lime, grapefruit, pine needles, honeydew melon, and just a hint of lactose/vanilla. This ale is nicely dank and the taste opens with tart citrus and onion, and just a hint of vanilla. There follows a blast of pine and strongly bitter Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Centennial, and Ekuanot hops. They are highly flavorful but leave a decidedly bitter after taste. As the glass warms there is just a hint of melon and more vanilla. There iis moderate astringency at the finish. The tastes are bold and distinct but blend nicely. This ale has a medium body with moderate, pleasant carbonation, and you can really feel the 8.5% ABV; there is a noticeable alcohol feel. Overall, this is a big DIPA with lots of flavor, which improves as it warms. I'm thinking it's a bit green on release day and a week or two will help it to settle. I'll try it again and may change my review accordingly.
