A very good pumpkin stout...
What I like about the pumpkin beer phenomenon is that everyone is trying to brew pumpkin brews in all sorts of styles - whether they be lagers, ales, IPA, and in this case stouts - we the drinkers of these beer are truly living in some enlightened times.
That said, this pumpkin beer, as a stout, does not disappoint. Truly enjoyed the look of this beer and even more so the smell - a blended collection of cheesecake, chocolate, roasted malts, and a hint of pumpkin. All of this lightly translated to the tongue and the mouthfeel was medium-bodied with a touch of astringent effect. Overall, superb and I would not hesitate to reach for again.

5/17/19...pours very dark brown, bordering on black with all foam vanishing. Milk chocolate nose, light sweetness. Milky mouthfeel. Hint of spices. The chili peppers pop a bit, spices linger and then cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate. Tasty.

Solid black color, body is just a little thin with medium light carbonation
Aroma isn't overpowering but its milk chocolate, lactose, vanilla and some wood/earth smell
Taste is identical to aroma, mildly sweet.

Reviewed on release date. Poured from 16 oz. can into Magnify stemless glass. It pours almost ink black with almost two fingers of foamy, khaki-colored head and lots of lacing. The fragrant nose features rich milk chocolate, milk/lactose, roasted malt, vanilla, and nuts. The taste is very good! It opens like chocolate milk: rich, dark milk chocolate, lactose, and vanilla over a base of roasted malt, with nuts and a slight earthy char. I know it's considered a "Double Chocolate Milk Stout" but the feel is rather thin, with light carbonation. At 8% it's a really easy drinker. Overall, if you like a lite drinking Stout, then Mind Over Matter is perfect. I wouldn't say it's a sipper but it's fine for casual drinking on a crisp Fall day.
