Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a hazy orange with a finger sticky white head that leaves thin layers of lace as it slowly settles with solid retention. 4.5
Smell is mandarin, guava, pineapple, apricot, and some grapefruit rind. 4.25
Taste follows tangerine, guava, pineapple, upfront and apricot and a hint of of grapefruit in the back end really well balanced. 4.25
Mouthfeel is bigger than most a tad sticky but not dry, soft gentle carbonation, and at 10.5% easy going down but loaded with flavor. 4.5
Overall this is a brewery that I always expect great things from and they delivered once again. Thanks @tasterschoice62 for this can, really a treat. 4.25

Pours a dry hazy medium yellow with an orange tint, large billowy foam head that lingers. Big dank aroma as it warms. Has a nice, restrained hop flavor: tropical fruit, lemon, grapefruit, orange, with a lingering bitter finish. Semi sweet with a syrupy feel and a dye finish. Overall a good “Luxury TIPA”, I liked “Finer Things” a lot more.

Reviewed on day of can release. It pours a totally opaque, turbid, dirty orange with a half finger of fluffy, bright white head and a thin coating of creamy lacing. It's a very attractive pour. The fragrant nose features lemon peel, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, cantaloupe melon, pine needles, and floral hops. The taste opens with a strong dose of Citra, Motueka and Galaxy hops that are flavorful but bite hard. There follows tart lemon and grapefruit and a hint of sweeter tropical fruit. The Motueka hops add their special flavor and plushness. It finishes with a touch of pepper and more than a little bitterness. The flavors blend nicely. This ale has a thick viscous feel with moderate carbonation, and you can really feel the 10.5% ABV. This is one potent ale! Overall, Velvet Rope is a creditable encore to Reserved. The hop bill is very flavorful. Magnify has proven its ability to brew Triple IPAs. Well done!
