IPA - Imperial / Double

Spicy cantaloupe, orange zest, boozy mango chunks are all bold aspects of the incredibly deep hop and golden malt flavor's. Earthy pine and a boozy heat amplify the complexity of hop taste within. Round and full body, smooth but also very clean.

6/12/19....pours cloudy with white wispy foam. Lemon citrus nose, soapy. Thin bodied bitter blend. Smooth mouthfeel. Strong citrus background. Quite interesting. Like an easy drinking imperial, if such a thing exists.

Canned on 1/7/2019 so 6 days old when reviewed. Poured into a Magnify tulip glass. It pours a hazy, golden-orange with more than a finger of fluffy, bright-white head and thick, creamy lacing. A very dank nose with lots of onion, lemon peel, grapefruit, pine needles, and floral hops. The taste opens with tart lemon and grapefruit but the tartness is tempered by a sweet creaminess. I don't think it's conditioned on lactose so I assume it's from the malt. Whatever the source, it adds a very nice balance. The bill of Citra, Amarillo, Centennial, Summit, and Cascade hops (grown in New York) adds a lot of flavor but only moderate bitterness. I had a pour on draught the day after the can release and I like it better after a week in the can. It features a creamy, full-bodied feel with pleasant carbonation, and it isn't hard to drink at 8% ABV. Overall, I'm enjoying it a lot more from the can than I did on draught. A pleasant surprise!
