$5 @ Cherry Hill Wine, Liquor & Beer, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is an 8% Imperial IPA but there's no other information on the label. It's poured a cloudy gold body with an orange sheen beneath an inch plus head of pillowy white foam. The aroma is floral, resinous, fruity, and herbal. The taste takes you in a new direction with notes of gooseberry, white grape, passionfruit, and mint.
There's also some pineapple, orange, mango, and grapefruit. The malt is basic but rich, and bready. It's sweetish, and bolsters the hops, but a solid bitterness anchors it and leads to a dry finish along with a spritz of alcohol and drying mint. In the mouth it's medium-full in body and gently crisp and then smooth and creamy across the tongue. The head has held up well and the lacing is great; I have to give it 4.25 out of 5. As for the taste I personally find the combination of fruitiness and mint a little weird but some people might love that. The alcohol is evident but I expect that in a beer of 8%. While this is not my cup of tea, all in all it's a well-done and full flavored Imperial IPA without flaw.

(Canned 2/21/23) Poured a murky mess into a standard pint glass with a creamy off white 2 fingers high head that receded slowly leaving loads of lacing. Aroma is floral with nice blend of hop characteristics and very small hints of light grain. Flavor is hop forward and sits mid palate finishing with a funky bitter aftertaste. Mouth is medium bodied with descent carbonation but the aftertaste is very perplexing as I can't decide what it's trying to convey. As with most brews from Magnify they use different hop combinations to update their beers.
