Imperial Creamline is an 8.5% Triple Dry Hopped Imperial IPA scaled up version of Creamline IPA. We brewed Imperial Creamline with as much lactose as a glass of milk, which is a significantly larger dose than we use in our other lactose IPAs. We dry hopped this beer 3 times with Citra, Motueka, Simcoe and Simco Cryo. The result is a massive Imperial IPA with a big body and subtle sweetness.

L-Straw yellow......somewhat hazy.........gentle pour yielded a modest 1/2" head........lacing is moderate not much retention

S-Some fruity hops........sugary malts with the sweetness of the lactose.........specifically:passionfruit / Lime / white grape

T-Similar to the nose.......same aforementioned flavors.........finish is slightly bitter with some piney / citrus rind notes.........Lactose is noticeable in the finish and aftertaste

F-Medium...........low carbonation.......low bitterness

O-A bit on the sweet side........probably drink one or two and that is it

L - pours a dark, oxidized orange with a fluffy head featuring bubbles so big, I'm amazed the head hasn't collapsed under its own weight by now.

S - oniony orange cream. Grape must, a touch of pear juice, and some lime.

T - bitey orange, rindy lime, and a thick, creamy, lactose-fueled piney syrupiness. Simcoe dominates in the bitterness category with cooling freshness and lingering dryness.

F - chewy and full-bodied. Satisfying and hearty. Hits a lot of the right notes.

O - not as much lactose as the tin implies! Definitely nails the feel along with a sort of "meaty" fullness in flavor, but the flavors seem a bit muted. Sweet and sticky.

A - Opaque medium to dark orange slightly "milky"color with a thick white layer of cream across the top that's more dense around the outside. The lacing is really thick and "clingy".

S - Resiny citrus & passion fruit, hits the nose from "several inches away" - nice and aromatic overall.

T - Robust resiny citrus, passion fruit, resiny pine, along with some spicy pepper citrus before it gradually fades on the palate along with a little hint of lactose.

M - Robust and chewy.

O - Recommended.

Canned on 6/20/2019; and reviewed on 6/23. Poured into a Magnify tulip glass. It pours a cloudy - almost turbid - tangerine brown color with a foamy, cream-white head that faded quickly, and a thin sheen of lacing. The nose features, in equal measure, creamy lactose and orange/tangerine. Initially it smells a lot like a creamsicle. But there is also overripe honeydew melon and notes of onion. There isn't much hop presence in the smell. This is really delicious! It tastes just like it smells and the creamsicle comparison holds. It opens with vanilla cream and bright fresh orange. The Citra and Motueka hops just add to the fruity creaminess. But toward the end of the sip there is a strong dose of Simcoe that adds needed bitterness. The overall taste is on the sweet side. This ale is plush and creamy with a pleasant level of carbonation. It carries quite a pop for 8.5% ABV. Overall, this ale fulfills its mission of being a bigger version of the original Creamline. I like it a lot!
