Collaboration with Sand City Brewing Co.

This coconut milkshake Imperial IPA is dry-hopped with Citra, Motueka and Simcoe and brewed this with plenty of lactose, vanilla and a healthy dose of coconut.

L-Poured with a big 2 inch head that quickly settled to a whitecap......leaving little lacing behind........lacing is sporadic.........color is straw colored, slightly hazy

S-Loads of coconut and fluffernutter.........very sweet........vanilla is present

T-Similar to nose........coconut, lactose and vanilla.......nillawafer-ish......fluffernutter-ish........agree with other review that there is some honeydew melon presence........

F-Soft. low carb,

O-Given the style and description......the brewers of this beer achieved their objective.......tasty brew.........2 would be the limit before moving on due to the sweetness which should be expected based on description.......

Canned on 7/30/2019 and reviewed two days later. Poured into Magnify tulip glass. It pours a cloudy, dirty golden-orange with a barely existent, milk white head and thin sheen of lacing. The smell is lactose/cream-forward, quite sweet, with coconut and whiffs of tangerine and ripe melon. There is little hop presence in the nose. The coconut is featured much more in the flavor. It's quite sweet but not cloyingly so. At mid-sip I can taste tip melon and hints of tangerine and pineapple. The unique taste of Motueka hops is also immediately noticeable. The Simcoe hops add a touch of piney bitterness. This ale has a thick, creamy mouth feel with pleasant carbonation and it drinks easily for 8% ABV. Overall, this is a nicely-crafted Milkshake IPA made by two of the best brewers in the Metro area. Because of its sweetness you wouldn't want to drink a lot of it but it's nonethless a tasty treat that is fun to drink.
