This was the last beer that I picked up at Magnify and of course, it took me a (relative) while to get to. The regular version of Search was good but surprisingly, this wasn't any noticeable improvement over that. If you like a good take on this beer with plenty of flavor and liveliness to it, this would be fine to reach for although it left a bit to be desired...
The pour to this was decent as it was hazy, golden, and uniformly hazy. A bit of fine, dark sediment was in this with some bigger, lighter sediments staying at the bottom until my last sip. As I expected, there wasn't any lacing that lingered on the side of my pint glass as this was just as thin as any Belgian Saison that I've had over the years. Lots of yeast, farmhouse funk, bright passion fruit, and lively mango in the nose as the tangy juiciness really burst forth in the taste. Of course, the taste had Brettanomyces in it as the Belgian characteristics came out once this fully warmed up. A lively carbonation kept this light as very little sediment ended up at the bottom of my pint glass. Raspberry tartness, a tangy citrus twinge and an underlying feel of dry, white cheese ensured that this would be light, fun, and just full enough to hold its own!
Not a lot of booze in this as this was a true session beer from start to finish. No, this won't win any awards but it was fun and contained enough flavor to hold my attention. If you can handle the funk and tangy fruit, then reach for this. It would pair well with a lighter cheese over a night stuck inside due to a quarantine...
