Extra Guac is a new 8% Imperial IPA that further explores a new fermentation profile. Sometimes you have to treat yourself - go ahead and order that side of guac even though it’s an extra charge. Extra Guac has our new profile that allows for more juiciness in the beer while lowering bitterness. We double dry hopped this beer with Idaho 7, Mosaic, Amarillo and Huell Melon.

Reviewed the day after can release. Poured into a Magnify tulip glass. It pours a hazy, muddy, tangerine-apricot color with a half finger, creamy, fluffy, bright white cap and thick coating of soapy, clinging lacing. It's nose features lemon, lime, and grapefruit, along with orange and floral notes and an earthy malt base. The taste follows the nose but it's even better: there is lemon-lime, along with earthy, piny notes from the Idaho 7 hops. The Muell 7 hops provide an instant, lite bittering. The combination is sensational! This is a highly fruity and flavorful, yet balanced and easy-drinking DIPA. The flavors blend very well. The mouth feel is excellent: medium in body with a pleasant level of carbonation, and the 8% ABV gives it substance but doesn't overwhelm. It feels lite and very drinkable. A second pour is not a problem. Overall, Extra Guac is a first rate DIPA. The flavors are fruity and bold but it's also balanced and nuanced. This beer is the product of a new fermentation process for Magnify and I'm very encouraged.
