Reviewed 4 days after can release. Poured into a Magnify tulip glass. It pours an opaque, honey-tangerine color with a large, creamy, bright white cap and thick, clinging lacing. The predominate smell is tart lemon with whiffs of melon and perhaps mango. The taste opens with the expected lemon and a touch of lime, papaya, and grapefruit but there's a really substantial, crackery malt presence. The Motueka hops accentuate the malt in the background. There's also a cream flavor that may reflect the use of Sabro hops. As the glass warms, I'm noticing more melon and tropical fruit notes, as well as a spiciness that I attribute to the Ekuanot hops. All of these flavors and delicate and complimentary. This is one tasty beer! The feel is thick and viscous with moderate carbonation and it doesn't drink like it's 8.1% Magnify is so good at softening it DIPAs so that they're flavorful but somewhat understated. A real sign of mature brewing skill.
