Two Percent is a new 7% Strawberry Milkshake IPA. We brewed Two Percent with lactose, hopped it with Citra, Simcoe and Motueka and conditioned it on strawberry puree and Madagascar vanilla beans. Childhood memories not included.

Reviewed one day after can release. Poured into a Magnify stemless glass. It pours a murky, opaque, yellow-orange color with pink hues, and a thin, milk-white head and lacing. It's an unusual color. On the nose there is discernible strawberry, along with lemon and lime. It's very fresh and fruity but you can also smell vanilla cream. The taste opens as advertised with a blend of vanilla, lactose, and a fruity blend of strawberry and tart lemon and lime. The hops are present but dry and not overly bitter. I'm assuming that the berry taste derives from the Motueka hops. It has a tropical taste and feel. The Citra hops add tropical notes of mango and lychee. There is also a touch of earthy citrus from the Simcoe. However they do it, Mag pulls it off. There is a bit of yeast burn at the finish which may subside over time. It's medium-bodied with pleasant carbonation, and the 7% ABV allows for easy drinking. A second pour is not an issue. I always worry about beers like this tasting gimmicky but Two Percent works. It's tasty and fun to drink.
