Attractive light amber appearance with a lasting thin white head.
Around a medium body with low carbonation.
Aroma is wood, earthy followed by malt, bread and cereal
Taste is almost dry, wood, earthy, with some malt, bread, and a bit of cereal
Seems like it was a good festbier that not so sure the earthy wood element helped it

DATE: October 12, 2024... OCCASION: watching Penn State/USC on a beautiful fall Saturday... GLASSWARE: Otto's mug... pours a hazy, light copper body that supports a thick, white foamy finger's worth of head... hay, fresh-cut lawn, light toffee, toasted bread, and hints of spelt... overall, not a powerful aroma, but pleasant enough... whereas the aroma isn't staunch, the palate is gentle, almost creamy, and inviting... light to medium-bodied, swift to its lingering buttery finish... the hay, oats and lightly toasted malts make this an easy-drinking partner for an all-day event... a solid Magnify offering, right in line with the style.... I prefer my Oktoberfests to demonstrate a more American profile (malt-heavy), and this isn't quite it...

A: light caramel copper color with a touch of haze. Pours a 3 finger off-white head fades to a film quickly
S: nice crisp caramel and grass. Sweet grains, and earthy hops. A touch of oak and big bready presence
T: caramel sweetness that quickly fades to a sharp oaky and herbal bitterness. Grass and grains behind that. A bit of cardboard and a nice oaky presence
M: medium mouthfeel with strong carbonation. Feels like liquid bread
O: the aroma is better than the taste on this one. I usually love oak aged beers, but it’s a bit too intense for the style on this one as the malts get a bit muted

Plays like a straight-up German-style Marzen with a neat little twist--lager was conditioned on oak, which gives it a nice woody backbone. Amber color, European hop presence, nice effort for the fall harvest.
