For all these fruited kettle sours out there, I don’t really see many lemonade inspired ones, never mind blueberry lemonade. This one just looked too fun not to pick up, so I’m not expecting the best thing ever, but I still think I’ll enjoy this. At least I hope. Only one way to find out right?
What the hell? I’ve never seen a beer this color. Pours a murky blueish green with 3 fingers of mint green head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
Well there’s not much going on in the nose, but it’s certainly as advertised. I’m picking up on aromas of tart lemon, wheat bread, and light sweet blueberry
There’s a bit more complexity in taste though not much, but it’s still more pleasing than the aroma. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting jammy blueberry, sweet lemonade, lime juice, and bready malt. The swallow brings notes of jammy blueberry, tart lemon, crackery malt, and a touch of strawberry
A medium full body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a rich and thick beer. Finishes a tad sticky and a bit too sweet
This is super weird (especially in appearance) but it’s simple enough to be enjoyable. Not something worth repeating though
