On draught at the brewery. The appearance is a bit unusual: it pours a murky turbid chocolate brown color with almost no head or lacing. Honestly, it's not a great appearance. The nose is a marked improvement with smells of dark milk chocolate, freshly-brewed coffee, hazelnut, caramel, brown sugar, and Woodford bourbon. Its taste is bold and complex with chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, maple syrup, and just a hint of anise. The bourbon barrel notes are subtle but highly effective. It finishes with just a slight amount of hop bitterness. Its mouth feel is extraordinary. I've never experienced a Stout this viscous and chewy. It's like drinking a very thick milkshake; the cake batter is very pronounced. The 12.3% ABV is surprisingly well hidden. Overall, Praline Party is a very unusual Stout in appearance but I like the taste and the mouthfeel. It's so heavy that this is a one-or-done beer.
