DATE: December 31, 2021... OCCASION: counting down the hours to the New Year with the family and a holiday beer... GLASSWARE: Lindemans pokal... first, the unfortunate: this can exploded, losing precious ounces... having cleaned up the minor mess, this pours a thick, cloudy beige-orange body that supports a creamy, clumpy off-white yeastiness... milky lactose, nutmeg, orange zest, and clove make for an alluring aroma--and a strong approximation of the original drink... a winning combination of creamy lactose and vibrant hoppiness at the teeth... a balanced mouthfeel, worth sipping slowly despite its 5% ABV... again, its texture holds true to its inspiration.... wonderful vanilla, nutmeg, and puckerish citrus punch the tastebuds... the spiciness makes this much bigger than its size, and its aftertaste lingers long after its finish, in line with its sour style... a great team-up here, and one I hope they release again next year...
