Dug another pint out of the fridge... this one pours a solid, hazy yellow-gold with a tinge of orange. Pretty thick white cap that is sitting there perfectly, not fading much at all. Right away, I'm detecting a bevy of aromas. I'm thinking coconut, even, but there is plenty of the usual stuff - pineapple, guava, mango, orange, whatever. It has a sweet, almost sherbet aroma, which is probably what brought to mind the coconut. Taste is not the same. The bitterness is up front and then it goes into the juicier bits. Orange juice is an obvious one, along with grapefruit pith. It has a caramel sweetness to it on the finish. Tangerine and pineapple becoming more apparent with repeated sips. All that and yet there is an interesting delicateness to it as well. Mid in body, lower on carbonation, a bit sticky sweet. Smooth, creamy. A touch warming.
Yeah it's an interesting one. Easy to drink.

a: slightly murky burnt orange and copper coller. 2.5 finger fizzy off-white head
s: loads of orange juice, orange zest, grapefruit, and tangy pineapple. a sweet bready note as backbone. lots of strawberries and a hint of mango sorbet
t: sweet grapefruit and a hint of pine upfront. tea leaf and pineapple follow that. orange juice and some tangerine notes as well. bready backbone, just like the aroma. then, a big hit of grapefruit bitterness and some caramel sweetness. a touch of alcohol as well
m: medium, slightly sticky mouthfeel. low carbonation
o: decent DIPA. good balance, but nothing mindblowing
