Named for a particularly recognizable peak across Kachemak Bay, this porter is robust and flavorful from roasted malts, while slightly dry and crisp.

Had this at Fat Olives Restaurant in Homer, AK.
No super strong flavors here, but it was smooth and malty, enjoyable after a good day of Halibut fishing off the Homer Spit.
Dark dark brown/black color.
Coffee, cafe'ish tastes are noticeable. Worthy of a try if you come across it!

Reviewing this from dinner earlier, which I wouldn't normally do without notes, but it was very tasty, and no one had reviewed it yet, so I couldn't resist. This was a great porter, on draft in Homer, at Cups Cafe, which is a fantastic restaurant, don't let the coffee shop name full you! The appearance is standard dark black garnet, with a moderate light tan head that clinged for a while, leaving a bit of lace.
The aroma was sweet malt, light toasted, a bit of cola.
The taste was also sweet toasted malt, nothing super deep but satisfying and smooth and just very well executed. There was a hint of hops on the finish to round it out.
The mouthfeel was typical for good porters, much lighter then it looks.
The drinkability was very high, one of the better porters I've had in a while, a relatively rich sweet taste that didn't get cloying or become to much as you drank it down, which you inevitably will faster then you realize.
I've also had the pleasure to enjoy their Pale Ale and Scottish Ale. The pale ale is nice and hoppy, american west coast style. The Scottish ale was less notable for the style, good and tasty, but not as malty as I'm accustomed to, with more fruity yeast esters reminiscent of a Brittish Pale.
