Picked this up when I was out west a while ago, as I loved the label and never had anything from Novo Brazil before. I was a bit surprised to see that they were actually from California. I wouldn't quite say that this was the most crushable IPA that I've ever had it was easily worthy of being a session beer and had enough mango in it to make up for it's shortcomings...
Of course, this poured like mango juice when it came to the hue although there was lot of dark sediment floating in it although that's probably my fault! This was canned on 6/27/18 and was in my queue that I've been slowly working my way through. The head was light and the lacing was just as sparse as there only a few soapy sections that lingered as I sipped this. Lots of mango, sherbet sweetness, and canned juice in the nose as the taste was the same, but artificial. Fruit cocktail and urine entered the mix here as this was just a bit too dank and artificial for me with a finish that felt like tea and mild outdoor dankness.
Light and easygoing, the booze was nowhere to be felt here as this had me wishing that I was back at Petco Park or Point Loma wondering why I ever stayed back east. Enough juice was here but for some reason, this felt too one-dimensional for me to rate any higher. If there was ever a west coast lawnmower beer, this would be it...

Big spew pouring into the glass. Several minutes later, still a gush. Eventually settles down to a yellow brew with coarse foam. Aroma has some hints of Hawaiian Punch. The taste is flat and grainy, and surprisingly dry. Not much hop taste and certainly anything to do with mango is AWOL.
This tastes more like a Saison with the scratchy yeasty taste and the slight bitter aftertaste. Metallic and grainy. I don't know what they were doing here but I am thinking of a Brut IPA that went a little haywire. From the 16 oz can purchased at Barons Market.

Grabbed this on a recent stop at La Mesa Wine & Spirits, one of four cans I picked up at the time. First time I had seen it in stores, but generally was a big fan of NOVO Brazil. Can description read, “Enjoy the most crushable India Pale Ale ever made. Poured a pale-to-gold semi-clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Lots of bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass at a rather quick pace. Good spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled big notes of mango and guava from the beginning. Also mango sorbet, papaya, lactose, slight vomit, mixed berry fruit on the bottom yogurt, green leaf and nectarine. Straight mango from the can, metallic and raw grain. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste followed the smell for the most part with that grain still coming in. Got mango, guava, papaya, mango sorbet, mixed berry fruit on the bottom yogurt, nectarine, green leaf and raw grain. (Taste - 3.75)
Light body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Juicy finish. (Feel - 3.75)
About as good as I thought it would be. No hiding what it was, just a solid mango beer. (Overall - 3.75)
