Not quite sure where or when I got this but it was part of my basement stash for quite a long time! This was the first beer that I ever had from Manor Hill and it was quiet enjoyable without feeling quite like an American Imperial Porter. That was because of the low amount of alcohol that I could feel as the flavors were really able to shine through once this completely warmed up!
This had a dark, cocoa hue to it with plenty of tan, fluffy head to top it off. That took a while to settle as there was very little in the way of bubbles or lacing left once I sipped this. Lots of coffee, cocoa, lactose, and roasted notes in the nose as the taste contained all of those as well. Almost as much a Coffee Stout or Breakfast Stout as a Porter, this was quite smooth, sweet, and cloying as there was an underlying creaminess present throughout. Slick on the palate and containing hints of blood orange, there was just a bit of sediment at the bottom of the liquid; as if this was freshly ground!
Enough booze was here but with everything doing it's best to hide it, this went down quite easily and felt like something I'd have in the morning to get me going. This was a great example of the style and a lovely brew that I'd easily reach for again!

Seasonal 8% Imperial Porter. It's great. It's what a big Porter should be; Roasty flavor with hints of coffee & chocolate, but not trying to do to much. I tried it both on tap at the Brewery & at home via can into a glass.
