poured from a 12oz can into a stout glass.
look: pitch black. poured with a half inch dark tan head that receded into a ring. some foaminess left sitting on top.
smell: super roasty. a bit malty with some hints of chocolate and coffee. also slightly bourbony, due to the aging in bourbon barrels.
taste: roasty, coffee, chocolate. follows the nose pretty well. you can taste the alcohol, but barely. it's hidden very well for a 12%.
feel: thick, slick, creamy. definitely a full bodied beer. a very light hit of carbonation.
overall: quite a good imperial stout. it's simple, tasty, and it feels great. if you like imperial stouts and can find this somwhere, pick it up. it's a shame that it was brewed only once.
