Draught 8oz snifter at The Brass Tap here in Baltimore: Brown w/ruby highlights body, white head that disapates quickly leaving a ring & some lacing. I couldn't smell anything either. Traces of vanilla, cocoa, and coffee on the tongue. A touch thin, but the carbonation is spot on. NOT a great baltic porter, but respectable.

Look: It pours dark brown. It has a brown head. Head retention is moderate.

Smell: It has aromas or roast and plums. It has a bit of sweetness in the nose. There are hints of chocolate.

Taste: It has roast and plums in the flavor. There are some dark cherry flavors and a very low level of chocolate.

Feel: It has a medium full body.

Overall, the plums are a bit strong but work well with the roast. The other flavors and aromas are in support.

Growler poured into a nonic about 45 minutes after the fill.

Poured straight in to get one finger of fast fading head. The foam is khaki in color and dense due to the very small and tight bubbles that leave just a bit of slick lace. The body is deep caramel brown and stacks up opaque in the pint.

Nose is weak, I only pick up on a cola-like caramel aroma that is well represented in the flavor along with coffee, rich roast and malt sweetness that is almost vanilla. Very low bitterness and not even a hint of alcohol. This combined with low carbonation, a soft and slightly frothy feel add up to an easy drinking winter brew.

Generally I wouldn’t give an overall score that is higher than the taste score but I really can’t find any detractors and am really enjoying this. Well done.

"This year’s Sleeve’s release from our Head Brewer, Kurt, is a true-to-style take on a traditional Baltic Porter. A robust and rich malt bill delivers complexity with hints of toffee, chocolate, baker’s cocoa. The result is an appropriate amount of sweetness melded together with a full and round mouthfeel in this bottom-fermented winter treat."

Not a lot of aroma at all but the flavor is rich and full with dark chocolate, coffee, and dark roasted malts with a hint of vanilla.
