If you appreciate a solid kolsch, do not order this. This, in appearance and taste (at least for this batch) was so similar to Bell's Oberon that I was confident that the bartender poured me the wrong beer. As a pale wheat ale, I love it. Going into this expecting a kolsch, I couldn't have been more disappointed. Cloudy yellowish orange, bordering on murky was an immediate warning sign (the citra wheat was far more clear than this). It tasted bready and wheaty and hinted at orange rind. Granted I enjoyee my pint of this, but how anyone would consider this a kolsch is beyond me, and my rating is due to that.
