On tap;
Mradium to deep golden, very clear showing continuous flow of small bubbles. Medium thick progressive ring of head at the edges.
Nose isn't too strong, but searching I get a slight sweetness to the malts with maybe a mere hint of floral and sweet pepper.
Taste starts a tad grainy, but fairly light and clean. Light honey cracker flavor. It might be a little too light if it continued, but before mid-taste the pepper note comes. More like a sweet red pepper for a fraction of a second, the heat starts to remind you this is a chile beer quickly enough. A little earthy bitterness that never takes hold is detected in some sips, but the pepper plays the biggest role in the backend.
A little weak early, this beer flirts with being too spicy as it builds up. But I think it leaves the right amount of tingle on the palate between sips.
Solid spicy chile beer. Could use a tad more body up front and any more pepper might be too much, but I'll likely order another.
