definitely one of the better beers here at vail brewing, but all of their hoppy stuff was very good. this is a very good one, and another one of the ones that doesnt try to be a hoppy belgian wit, but uses a more basic american ale yeast strain, and doesnt rely on orange peel and coriander to flavor it. its bright golden yellow in the glass with a soft frosty haze and almost an inch of airy white head. pretty and light. smells great too, very fresh citrus family hops, no bitterness at all, definitely some pale white wheat malt, and tangy zest, almost has a wild aspect to it. the hops taste great too, more than just the citra one dimensional thing, but thats there for sure. maybe some amarillo too, hard to tell. not overly hoppy and actually quite delicate in both the hops and the wheat, but i like it that way, and its more drinkable because of it. carbonated to high heaven, which i love in the style, and one of the drier examples of the style i have known. very unique with the hops, and not without some belgian hints on the yeast side, almost sort of saison for a second, but its just an american ale strain fermented warmer i think. i could drink a whole bunch of these on the patio on a nice summer day. not sure about the name, but the beer rocks.
