Poured on-tap in a shaker pint at the brewery, the beer is a dark, deep, black coloring with a dense, foamy, light tan head. Nose of bitter grains, roasted notes, coffee, and bittersweet chocolate. Flavors are heavily roasted forward, with a blast of bitter and dark coffee on a grainy, toasted backbone. Highlights of chocolate and earthy notes throughout. The bod is big, bold, and dry. The aftertaste is more of the bitter grains and roasted coffee, balanced very nicely. The finish is smooth and dry, with a coffee linger that somehow turns slightly sweet after all of the dry and bitter characteristics throughout. Very solid porter.
