Interesting enough beer. I get 1/4 inch head of foam if I pour it aggressively enough into a nonic. Whether poured hard or not you'll get a dark body and medium carbonation.
Beer yields a standard porter nose, maybe a little bit surprisingly coffee or cacao forward. I don't catch maple until the beer warms a little bit. Of course, the taste follows the nose. Not bad.
Beer is medium in the mouth. I want to say thin but I just got done with a twelver of Guinness 200th Anniversary mixed pack and although those beers are lighter in general they are all certainly thinner. Funny thing is that those are all excellent beers by my standard as well.
This is a nice beer even though it's not readily available locally and I'm sure it's essentially impossible to find if you don't at least have a friend or family member who lives nearby. It's a five minute drive for me so don't have this problem. Biased? Probably. Recommend regardless although there are better beers available on the shelf in your typical bottle shop. Still worth a shot if you're nearby.
