The appearance was a slight pale orange color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated fairly quick. The aroma had some sweet wheaty tones over some citrus, some banana, then some grassy hops. Light leafiness at the end. Some herbal quality as well. The flavor melds the sweet of all of the previously mentioned aromas together fairly nice. Lingering damp earthy/toastiness in the aftertaste, acceptable, which leads into the finish with a little bit of hay. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt appropriate. Nice smoothness along my tongue, a little unexpected from a wheat ale. Overall, something else seemed to be in this, something that I couldn’t quite place my finger on, but I want to say, it was something that softened the wheat a bit more. Still, it’s one I’d come back to.
