The appearance was a rugged semi-dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace leaving some trickling stringy lace. The aroma had some sweet to roasty nuts, some grassy hops, light caramel/toffee backbone and some light toast. The flavor blends the sweet to the roast fairly nice and adds in slight earthiness. All seems to come together to slide into the aftertaste and roll into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt appropriate. Nice balance between smooth and roast over my tongue. Overall, good brown ale that helps the transition from Winter to Spring.
