again, another one from these guys where the ratings kind of send the wrong message, i mean, if you dont like a little malt in your hoppy beer, thats fine, but this isnt objectively bad, far from it, in fact, i thought it had a real unique hop profile, even something southern hemisphere, ahead of its time when it was added here a couple of years ago, and unless i am badly mistaken some messed up yeast ester for a cool and unique hop profile, which i am not, this is nicer beer than its scores suggest, which is the case with a lot of them here it seems. maybe its easy to be nostalgic in such a comfortable and welcoming place, maybe its their timeless vibe and mellow folks in here, i dont know, but to me, this is modern ipa, its hoppy in a fruity and non bitter way that leads with mango before citrus, and there are curious shades of pear and white wine and even dried apricot to this, some crystal malt character keeping it old school sure, but this is unique, balanced, and professionally made. i think i just like their house yeast in here, and the hop profile of this is good with that. its different and also sort of timeless like the energy and motif of this place, both an ancient recall and a premonition. im into it, and wish i didnt have to drive so i could have a few more of these puppies!

On tap at HH brewpub. Malts dominate, but had a nice piney, soapy finish. Doesn’t seem bitter at first, but catches up later. Hops work well with the malts. Mild by NW standards, but not too bad.
